Medical
The part of the stomach that is “inactive” continues to produce acids and enzymes for digestion. This is normal and should not have a negative impact on your health.
Most people can minimise excess skin through healthy eating, exercise and weight training. But if you need to have excess skin removed, I can help you find a plastic surgeon.
It is strongly recommended that women wait at least one year after surgery before becoming pregnant. Approximately one year after surgery (depending on how much weight you needed to lose), your body will be fairly stable and you should be able to carry a healthy baby to term.
After two weeks (from day 12 after the procedure), the stitches can be removed. This can be done by a general practitioner or nurse. The sterile plasters on the stitches after the procedure can remain in place for the first two weeks, provided that they are not dirty or coming loose.
Practical
Nightwear, towel, soap, toiletries, medication (that you also take at home).
In week four, you will start practising eating solid food. From then on, you can eat all healthy foods without grinding or pureeing them. After three months, you will have completely changed your eating habits.
You must not lift anything heavy, exercise or exert yourself for one month!
